WS5 -WORKSTATION 5A
MICROS reaffirms its commitment to providing industry leading Point-of-Sale hardware with the new Workstation 5A (WS5). Building on the successful legacy WS4 and along side the next generation WS4 LX, the WS5A demonstrates MICROS's unique ability to design rugged, affordable hardware that is easy to install & maintain, intuitive to use, and extremely reliable. The all new WS5 features a powerful processor running the latest Microsoft Windows Embedded operating systems and a large, bright 15" touchscreen display. Other impressive characteristics include standard stereo speakers, 1G networking, MICROS CAL, and an advanced operating system recovery utility. The use of flash memory and passive cooling reduces the risk of costly mechanical failures, and improves system reliability and uptime. Improved I/O connectivity, a new, easy to use adjustable stand, and many modular options make the WS5 highly configurable and ready for use in a wide range of applications.
Unique to this workstation is to add a fingerprint reader !
WS4 LX - WORKSTATION 4 LX

Since the release of the revolutionary MICROS Workstation 4 (WS4) point-of-sale (POS) terminal in 2003, MICROS has installed almost 200,000 units around the world. With the WS4, MICROS led a transition in POS technology away from complicated and costly PC-based hardware, to lower-cost, more reliable solid-state POS appliances that provide superior functionality with the lowest total-cost-of-ownership on the market. Continuing that leadership, the Workstation 4 LX (WS4 LX) provides all of the same benefits, while providing a 3X improvement in performance
PCWS 2010

The PCWS 2010 is a state of the art PC-based, point-of-sale terminal. While it retains many of the design features and the overall look of the Eclipse PCWS, it is a completely redesigned workstation employing the latest technologies. The fully open architecture combined with abundant connectivity and configuration options make it an ideal choice not only for MICROS POS applications, but for any touchscreen based application. The attractive, rugged design makes the PCWS 2010 at home in any environment.
The PCWS 2010 is also available with a 15" Touchscreen
KWS 270

The MICROS Keyboard Workstation 270 (MICROS KW270) is an all new point of sale client for the Simphony Enterprise System. With 90 fully programmable keys, a bright, clear 5.7” operator display, integrated 2x20 transflective customer display, spill-proof design and rugged construction, the MICROS KW270 is ideally suited for stadiums, arenas, and other areas where exposure to liquids, bright sunlight, and extremes in temperature are common.
The MICROS KW270 can also be equipped with a rechargeable battery that provides up to 10 hours of run time. Combined with mounting points for portable printers and integrated wireless connectivity, the MICROS KW270 is perfect for remote locations on movable carts or temporary stands.
MICROS understands the need for dependable, easy to use devices in the hospitality market place. To be successful, POS terminals must meet the stringent guiding principles the industry requires. They must be:
•Easy to Install
•Robust
•Unobtrusive
•Adaptable
And, when required, service must be quick and intuitive in order to keep down time to an absolute minimum.
POS PRINTER INTERFACES
IDN
MICROS IDN provides a secure, efficient POS printer protocol. The RS-422 Serial interface allows multi-dropping, or connecting several printers to the same serial line. Each printer is uniquely identified (1 through 15) by a DIP switch setting on the printer interface module. The protocol allows extremely long cable runs, up to 4000 feet. IDN ensure data integrity via the bi-directional interface. Prior to sending a print job, the Host requests a status from the printer, once confirmed, a single line of data is sent to the printer, as the printer responds that this line is printing, a second line of data is sent. In this fashion, the protocol ensures printing has completed, or can send the print job to a backup printer, risking only a single line of data.
RS-232 Serial
Serial printer interfaces are supported by almost all current MICROS products and provide a low cost, open architecture. RS-232 Serial printers require a direct connection to a serial port on the host and have a limited cable length, typically between 50 to 150 feet. They are especially attractive for installations where MICROS workstations are not used.
Ethernet
Ethernet printing provides a great number of advantages over serial printers but, at this time, is also much more costly. Ethernet, or IP printing, allows a printer to be placed on the same network as workstations, PCs, and other TCP/IP devices. Since the printers are network devices, they can be placed at any network termination, providing simplified cabling and longer distances (up to 300 feet using standard CAT5 cable) over standard serial cabling.
Ethernet Printers supplied by MICROS feature the Epson Ethernet IV interface and this is the only interface supported by the 9700 IP Printer Discovery Protocol. Ethernet IV interfaces are not commonly available from other suppliers. Ethernet printing is supported by the RES product group via OPOS. RES applications do not have an integrated discovery protocol.
EPSON TM - T88IV

Designed for high-volume POS applications, the TM-T88IV delivers speed, performance and durability. Like its predecessor, the TM-T88III, the T88IV features a durable metal autocut mechanism, quiet operation, and easy drop-in paper loading. The TM-T88IV improves print speed by 25% and has a redesigned, more spill resistant casework. There is also an optional power supply case that sits beneath the printer to maintain a small footprint and keeps the power supply hidden and protected.
The TM-T88 is capable of printing bar codes and characters that can be scaled up to 64 times as large as the standard printing size for logos. This new model is capable of printing in two colors. Please consult your product application group to see if this particular feature is supported. Also note that two color printing requires special thermal paper.
EPSON TM - U 220 Impact printer

The TM-U220 is an impact printer that is well suited for the kitchen environment. Capable of printing in two colors, the U220 features a compact, ergonomically sound design and provides clamshell, drop in loading for quick and easy paper replacement with little or no operator training. If you are upgrading from a legacy TM-U200, theU220 is designed to be fully backwards compatible.
The TM-U220 operates at speeds up to 6 lines per second, and supports multi-ply paper. A wall mount bracket is available for the U220, and the printer can be set for ‘right side up’ printing when vertically mounted. This allows text to be easily read as the paper exits the printer when wall mounted.
EPSON TM - U 230 Impact Printer

The TM-U230 is a rugged, durable printer designed for the harsh hospitality environment. The TM-U230 has many features which make it well suited for the kitchen environment, including:
-
Speedy, easy-to-read one- and two-color order printing
-
Flexile installation on countertop or wall using optional wallhanging bracket
-
Semi-automatic paper loading
-
Convenient "near-end-paper" and "paper-out" sensors
-
Specially coated anti-bacterial smooth finish wipes clean easily.
